Norwell Police investigating BB gun damage

NORWELL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Four Norwell businesses reported BB or pellet damage to their windows Saturday morning.

Police said that all the businesses were located on Washington Street in Norwell, including the South Shore Bank, Norwell House of Pizza and Walpole Outdoors. Police believe the damage occurred sometime after 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

And then Tuesday, a woman was hit while driving down Route 53 in neighboring Hanover. She was struck right above the eat after a BB shattered her car windshield.

That victim, Laura Sweezey told FOX25, "Suddenly, I heard a big bang and a sting on the side of my head and I looked at my window and it was totally shattered and I realized I had been shot!"

Police stepped up patrols of the area and are investigating this as a malicious destruction of property crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact Norwell Police Department detectives at (781) 659-7979.
