MATTAPAN (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – It's harder to make up excuses about not eating fresh vegetables in one Boston neighborhood.
The much anticipated mobile farm stand made its big debut over the weekend at Mattapan's Farmer's Market.
The stand is a hybrid bicycle and is run by the people at Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition. Their goal is to make eating vegetables exciting and accessible.
It was officially inaugurated Saturday with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino presiding over the ceremony.
Vegetables on the stand will be supplied by Brookwood Community Farm and it is estimated that several hundred pounds of fruits and vegetables can fit on the cart.
