MILFORD, Mass. — A Milford elementary school teacher has been charged with exposing himself to a young boy.
Police say 40-year-old Jared Anzelone is accused of exposing himself to a boy in a local Walmart. He was identified after Bellingham Police posted photos on their Facebook page.
According to police, Anzelone called Bellingham Police himself when he saw pictures of himself posted online as a suspect in this crime.
Police arrested Anzelone and charged him with indecent assault. In court on Wednesday, Anzelone pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Parents in the area say they are disturbed to find out about these allegations.
"I’m horrified, I’m horrified, I'm glad he was caught, I'm glad he’s been arrested," said Tricia Boyle, a Bellingham parent. "I find it hard to believe a child would make something like that up, I would not be comfortable if he was back at the school."
"I think it’s pretty sick, I mean you just don’t do those things," said Joan.
Anzelone is a fourth-grade teacher at Woodland Elementary School.
The superintendent tells Boston 25 News that the district is working with DCF and local police in the investigation. Anzelone has been placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
"These accusations and charges are very concerning. Our number one priority is safety and well being of the students in our care."
Anzelone posted bail after his arraignment Wednesday. He was ordered to stay away from the Walmart where the incident happened and to stay away from the alleged victim. He has also been ordered to refrain from having contact with anyone under the age of 17.
Boston 25 News stopped by Anzelone's house for a statement on Thursday, but he didn't answer.
