BOSTON — The MBTA said that the trolley collision in Mattapan preliminarily appears to be caused by operator error.
The crash happened last Friday afternoon and injured 17 people, none of them seriously.
The MBTA Deputy General Manager Jeff Gonneville said that the operator of the trolley is not working as the investigation continues.
The Mattapan Line will be running with four trolleys instead of five while repairs continue. Gonneville said riders should expect to wait about six-and-a-half minutes instead of the normal five minutes during the rush hour.
