MEDFORD, Mass. — Medford Police officers were out on Main Street Sunday looking for surveillance video of a driver who struck a 22-year-old woman and took off.
“It was scary, to say the least, and I definitely feel for those people and their families,” said Nakita Sconsoni.
Sconsonicalled 911 Saturday night after seeing the aftermath of the accident right outside her home on Harvard Street in Medford.

Police say the 22-year-old woman was getting out of a ride-share car with her boyfriend at 125 Harvard Street around 11:30 p.m. when she was struck by a car. “I saw someone holding somebody who seemed to be hurt,” said Sconsoni.
Sconsoni says she heard a man screaming, holding a young woman who was injured. Another neighbor took a cell video as that woman was rushed to Mass General Hospital. Police say she has serious injuries after she was hit by that car and the driver took off.
“Going to bed last night, we said our prayers, saying God I hope she’s okay,” said Susan Keating, who lives across the street from where this accident happened.
Keating says her husband also called 911 after they saw the commotion outside. “After we went in, I was like I’m going to go out and check, and when I came back out to check, I saw the guy across the street holding her and it was very heart-wrenching,” said Keating.
Witnesses told police they believe the driver who hit this woman was driving a beige-colored Toyota Corolla or Camry, and they saw that driver stop and get out, but when he saw the woman was injured – he drove off down Main Street.
“How you live with it is a different story, so I can’t even imagine how that person’s feeling today,” said Keating. “I mean I know they realized what they did and they have to come forward and do the right thing.”
“I just hope there’s some justice found after all of this,” said Sconsoni.
Medford Police told Boston 25 News that Sunday evening, the person who allegedly hit the woman turned himself in to Medford Police. Authorities confirm they also have his car that he was driving when the young lady was struck.
This investigation is still ongoing, and charges will be sought against the driver, police say.
