FALL RIVER, Mass. — The Bristol County District Attorney's office announced that a Mansfield man was sentenced to 15 years in state prison after being convicted last week on multiple counts of child rape and possession of child pornography.
William Koury, 35, pleaded guilty last week at the Fall River Superior Court to a multi-count indictment charge after he was arrested in December 2012 after an undercover investigation into the sharing of child pornography was conducted by the Massachusetts State Police.
A State Trooper was able to download a video montage of 2 to 4 year old female children being molested and then traced the IP address back to the defendant.
After a search warrant at the defendant's home was conducted, child pornography was found on several devices, including a laptop, thumb drives, CDs and cameras. Two children seen on images found on the cameras seized were identified and later interviewed.
Although one of the girls did not make any disclosures, the statements from the second young girl helped confirm the child rape charges.
Along with the 15 year state prison term, Judge Thomas McGuire also sentenced the defendant to 10 years of supervised probation following his release from prison.
The probation conditions include mandatory sex offender counseling, prohibition from residing in a home with minors, no unsupervised contact with children, no employment or volunteer work that puts him in contact with children, no contact with those involved in the case, obligatory GPS monitoring and no loitering or residing within 300 feet of a school.
"This convicted sex offender engaged in demented and perverted conduct. He is a danger to children and the community as a whole," District Attorney Quinn said. "Hopefully this sentence will adequately protect the children of our community from this dangerous individual."
Koury had previously been convicted of indecent assault and battery on a minor back in 2008 and was sentenced to two and half years in jail.
The full list of charges includes five counts of possessing child pornography, and one count each of disseminating child pornography, rape of a child (aggravated by age), rape of a child, and indecent assault and battery on a person under 14.
