SUDBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Sudbury man has been arrested and charged with killing his parents while on vacation in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Wednesday police are saying he had a violent past.
Mikhail Young, 24, reportedly stabbed his parents, Kenneth Young, 73, and Jane Young, 66, to death on Sunday afternoon while they were on vacation in the Caribbean. Police say they saw this coming.
Chief Scott Nix said, "Given our interaction, it's unfortunate, but it doesn't shock me, no.""
NIx was among the investigators who have had to respond to the Young's Sudbury home numerous times.
FOX25 found the court records dating back to 2008 and the 24-year-old has been arrested several times over the years for assault on his parents, his mentally disabled sister and a police officer.
On June 15, 2008, Jane Young told police she was "...afraid of her son and what he might do to her."
After a confrontation about checking his bedroom for drugs and alcohol, a protective order was filed.
About a month later, police were back at the house and court records show that order was violated in another violent episode. Jane Young told investigators then her son "threatened to burn down the house" if they called police.
In 2010 Mikhail was charged with assaulting his disabled sister over a fight about a bird and flash forward to August of 2011 when he was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a police officer.
In his own words, Ken Young wrote in an affidavit after Mikhail came home drunk that he threw dinner plates and Young's medication on the floor saying, "I will kill you."
The family of Ken Young released the following statement Wednesday: "We are heartbroken by the loss of our brother and his wonderful wife Jane. Ken was one of five siblings. Ken and Jane had big hearts, and they dedicated their lives to helping others. We truly appreciate the outpouring of support that we have received, and at this time we ask everyone to please respect our privacy during our grieving process."
Mikhail is due back in court on May 12.
