Man repeatedly stabbed while walking dog in Brookline

BROOKLINE, Mass. — Brookline Police are investigating after a man was stabbed on Vernon Street Wednesday night.

The city of Brookline said a middle aged man was walking his dog on Vernon Street around 9:50 p.m. when another man tried to rob him, stealing his cell phone. The victim was stabbed three times, suffering nonlife threatening wounds.

The suspect fled on Vernon Street toward Park Street. He’s described as a black male, about 26 years old, clean shaven and was wearing dark colored pants and a hoodie.

Police said the assault happened steps away from a senior care center. The suspect tossed the cell phone after the stabbing.

The city of Brookline asks that citizens be aware when walking in the area and anyone with information is asked to call police.
