Man charged in connection with Cambridge body parts case has record

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) --A man who once referred to himself as "a beast" is now being called a killer by police.

Paperwork revealed a violent past for Carlos Colina, the 32-year-old charged in connection to the horrific body parts discovery in Cambridge this past weekend, and witnesses say he was involved in a brutal attack that came out of the blue a year ago.

In November of last year, Colina was charged with assaulting a man he didn't know at the Cambridge Athletic Club.

“He was just pummeling him in the head; in the chest. The other guy was fighting back as best he could but he was much smaller,” one witness said.

One witness didn't want to be identified, but says a couple of trainers had to help break up the fight.

In the police report, James Williams told investigators he suffered two broken ribs and abrasions to his right elbow and neck. He also reported a cut on the forehead from the fight.

“The manager of the gym told Carlos to pack up his stuff and get out of there and Carlos as he was leaving yelling 'I'm a beast! I'm a beast,'” a witness said.

Colina's bail was revoked in connection with the Cambridge body parts case due to this one.
