Man charged for allegedly texting gun emoji to ex-girlfriend

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A man accused of threatening his ex-girlfriend at her apartment complex is facing more charges after police say he texted her a gun emoji.

Police responded to a report of shots fired an apartment complex on Huse Road in Manchester, N.H. just before 11 p.m., where a 24-year-old woman said her ex-boyfriend had come to speak with her.

Jeremy Luna, 19, had allegedly threatened to "shoot her place up" if she didn't see him. When the woman didn't answer the door, she said Luna got into an argument with someone outside before she heard a gunshot.

Police say the gunshot was through the windshield of the woman's car, though they weren't able to say who shot it.

Officers found Luna at a restaurant on Union Street, but police say he did not have a gun.

He was arrested without incident, but the problem, according to police, is that he allegedly sent a text message to his ex-girlfriend with a gun emoji and asked her not to contact police about the earlier incident.

Luna has been charged with witness tampering, in addition to domestic criminal threatening and another witness tampering charge for the text message.

The gunshot is still under investigation as a criminal mischief charged, but no one has been charged.
