BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police say a Boston man was posing as an attorney and defrauding clients seeking legal assistance.
David Koraca is accused of presenting himself as an attorney named David Corazza and other aliases even though he was not authorized to practice law.
One victim said she contracted Koraca to help her with financial issues. After he made copies of her credit cards and took down her personal information she discovered unauthorized charges of more than $1,000.
According to police, Koraca said he would pay back the charges but never did.
A second victim, Farah Diba Sahnoun, said she paid Koraca nearly $7,000 for legal assistance during her divorce. She told police after he took down her personal and credit card information she was never able to reach him again.
This month she noticed $21,000 in unauthorized charges including payments to a company that leased Koraca space at One International Place in Boston.
Sahnoun said, "Claims to be Mark Wahlberg's attorney, as well as claims to have assisted Michael Douglas's son."
She went on to say, "He took advantage of the situation knowing that I was in need for my divorce."
After a court hearing Koraca was held on $10,000 bail.
