FALL RIVER, Mass. — A major water main break has forced officials in Fall River to cancel classes at a city high school.
Fall River Public Schools said Durfee High School would be closed because of the water main break.
The announcement was made on Twitter early Wednesday morning.

Officials said there was a break in the standpipe on the top floor of the school - and that quickly caused water to pour everywhere.
"I would conservatively estimate 30,000 gallons, easily, have leaked out through the building," Fall River District Fire Chief James Mellon said. "Now it's affecting a very large area of the building."
The rest of the schools in Fall River remain open.
The city will assess the damage Wednesday.
