BOSTON — World-renowned cellist and songwriter Yo-Yo Ma recently held a private concert for young patients, their parents, and staff at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Ma’s great-niece, Eloise, recently received life-saving care at the hospital and their family wanted to thank her care team with a special performance, a spokesperson for the healthcare facility said.
Eloise and her parents were in attendance, too.
Ma played his show in the hospital’s Seacrest Studio, which broadcast the performance to all of the inpatient rooms and playrooms across the hospital.
“All of the patients and staff truly loved hearing Yo-Yo Ma play,” the spokesperson said. “We are so grateful for such a special visit.”
Ma also shared that he was once a Boston Children’s patient and was happy to return.
