Woman dies after being struck by tree in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, Mass. — A woman has passed away after a falling tree struck her in Plymouth as severe weather moved through on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. when emergency crews responded to a report of a tree that had fallen on Sullivan Avenue. There, first responders found a 61-year-old woman who had been struck.

The woman, whose name hasn’t been released, was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth with injuries that were described as life-threatening, where she later passed away

While Monday’s storm left many roads and highways impassable due to flooding, the Boston 25 Weather team also warned of the possibility of damaging wind gusts.

An investigation is ongoing.
