Teenage boy drowns in Bedford, NH pond, police say

BEDFORD, New Hampshire — A teenage boy drowned while swimming in a pond in Bedford, New Hampshire on Sunday evening, police said.

Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski said in a statement that the boy went missing at Sebbins Pond.

Police responded to the pond around 7 p.m. Sunday for a report of a teenage male missing in the water.

When officers arrived, they entered the water to try to locate the swimmer and then called for mutual aid from the Nashua Police Department dive team.

The Bedford Fire Department also responded to the scene.
