FARMINGTON, ME — A Maine woman is recovering after she was attacked by a bull this past weekend, according to police.
Farmington Police received a call for a 43-year-old woman that was injured by a cow in Farmington on Friday afternoon. Police, EMS and Animal Control responded to Whistle Stop Trail in West Farmington shortly after 3 p.m. to find the woman.
The woman told police she was preparing for a jog along the trail when she was charged at by the bull. The bovine lifted the woman up in the air by its horns before she was able to scramble to the nearby treeline.
The woman suffered a small laceration that needed stitches. EMS was able to treat her at the scene and she was able to avoid being transported by ambulance.
The owner of the loose bull was contacted and arrived at the scene to corral the bovine and a large pig tagging along with the bull. The identity of the owner has not been released pending possible charges.
