DEDHAM — Dedham - Four Brewster Ambulance Service medical workers are recovering in hospitals tonight. The company says their medical transport vehicle flipped over after possibly being cut off. It happened on the southbound side of 95 near the Dedham-Westwood line.

From Sky 25 you could see the wreckage of a Brewster Ambulance Service transport vehicle. Dedham and Westport Fire departments were the first on the scene. Deputy Chief Stephen Lynch says they got there right after Westport. “This was reported as an ambulance rollover with people ejected and people trapped,” Lynch said.

The traffic on the southbound side of 95 backed up right after it happened around noon. There were four Brewster employees in the vehicle. One was trapped. “The vehicle was on its passenger side on the ground, it had rolled over several times wound up on its side,” said Lynch.

Med Flight landed right on 95 between route 1 and route 1A to fly the woman who was trapped to a Boston hospital. The other three Brewster employees were taken by ambulance. “We found them outside the vehicle so I don’t know if they were self extricated or if they got help getting out,” Lynch said.

Brewster says the vehicle transports wheelchair patients. In a statement, they told us “The vehicle was non-patient-loaded. However, four of our Brewster team members were injured. These four individuals were responsive and appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries.

State police are investigating. Brewster Ambulance says their workers are expected to be okay and the vehicle may have been cut off.
