SCITUATE, Mass- — A Scituate cat that was missing for three years has been reunited with its owner.
According to owner Meaghan Swetish, Gus the cat was a frequent roamer of the neighborhood and would often disappear for days or weeks at a time. Swetish says he would always find his way home but eventually, weeks of waiting for his return turned into months and then into years.
Swetish says someone recently brought Gus to the Scituate Animal Shelter with a broken toe and a friend told her that Gus had been kept there.
We knew he'd been someone's pet.

We did NOT know how long he'd been missing!!! 🙀🙀
So happy we helped you find your way home, Gus! #CatsofTwittter pic.twitter.com/QJ9iQmRT0K
According to Swetish, Gus is “content” and adapting to the life of an ordinary, elderly house cat.
