REVERE, Mass. — The City of Revere has postponed tonight’s fireworks display at the annual sand sculpting festival due to severe weather expected in the area.
Severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong wind gusts are forecasted throughout the evening, prompting officials to move the scheduled fireworks show to Sunday, July 19 at 9 p.m.
The festival itself will remain open today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The People’s Choice voting for the best sculpture will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The city has hosted the weekend-long sand sculpting festival for 22 years.
