MANCHESTER, N.H. — A New Hampshire man held a girl against her will and assaulted a police officer who responded to her call for help, police say.
Ahmed Abukar, of Manchester, faces charges of kidnapping, possesion of a controlled drug, simple assault and resisting arrest.
Police say the 26-year-old and a juvenile were inside a Dollar Deluxe convenience store in Manchester, and he would not let her leave. The girl was able to run from Abukar and use a cell phone to call for help, according to police.
Abukar was arguing with people outside the store when police arrived. Police say he was uncooperative and assaulted an officer.
A plastic bag of crack cocaine was also found on him, according to police.
Abukar was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in Hillsborough Superior Court-North.
