BOSTON — Police announced on Tuesday they found the body of a Boston woman who had been missing since late January.

Alenny Matos, 38, was officially reported missing on Feb. 11, but family and friends say she was last seen on the evening of Jan. 25 in the area of 79 Spencer Street in Dorchester. At the time Matos went missing, she was believed to be on her way to 21 Bullard Street, but never made it to that address.

On May 9, a passerby found human remains in a wooded area near the Enneking Parkway in West Roxbury. The remains have been identified as Matos, but an autopsy will be conducted to determine cause and manner of death.

Anyone with information on the disappearance or death of Alenny Matos is advised to contact BPD Homicide Detectives at 617-343-4470.
