One person rushed to the hospital following overnight shooting in Dorchester

DORCHESTER — Boston EMS confirmed they rushed one person with a gunshot wound to the hospital. Boston Police say that person is in critical condition.

Boston Police say a shot spotter detected the gunfire just before one o’clock Monday morning.

When officers got to Elmhurst Street in Dorchester, they found one man who had been shot. While he was rushed to the hospital, police remained on the scene gathering evidence. There were shell casings in the street and a bullet hole through a car window.

Police say no arrests have been made at this time and the shooting remains under investigation.
