Multiple items made by Massachusetts companies land on Oprah’s annual ‘Favorite Things’ list

Oprah Daily releases a “Favorite Things” holiday shopping list, and this season, Oprah Winfrey and her team named multiple products from Massachusetts companies including the Dawn Gloves from Top It Off in West Roxbury.

“This year, we’re celebrating small businesses (think family-run, local makers, BIPOC- and woman-founded, and more!),” wrote Oprah on Oprah Daily. “So no matter who you’re shopping for—friends, spouse, favorite teacher, a new grandbaby— we’ve got something that will let them know how much they matter!”

Top It Off’s $22 Dawn Glove are available in red, ice blue, black and green all in a plaid print. They are made of soft, cozy material and feature small pads embroidered on the index finger and thumb of each glove that are compatible with touchscreens.

“These gloves are from a female-owned business called Top It Off Accessories, and I am going to top them off by giving them with some hand cream,” Winfrey wrote on OprahDaily.com. “The plaid print is a crowd-pleaser, and you can keep them on while you use your phone thanks to touchscreen capabilities.”

The Dawn Glove is available to purchase on Top It Off’s website and in Oprah’s Favorite Things gift guide, which is exclusively featured in Amazon’s online store.

Elizabeth Hoenscheid and Karena Rasser founded Top It Off in 2003 with the goal of bringing “versatile, timeless styles to women at prices they would love”. They started getting attention around Boston for their hand-sewn ribbon belts and their products are now carried in more than 2,000 boutiques and gift stores around the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.

“Together with our team, we are always listening for what women wish they were wearing, and strive to bring them the perfect mix of style, quality and price,” said Elizabeth & Karena.

Boston 25 spoke to Elizabeth about this early holiday surprise and how her product almost didn’t make the list. Watch the video below:

Some of the other items from local companies include the SeaCycled Duck Float Boot from Sperry in Waltham, the Striped 80-Inch x 25-Inch Travel Wrap from Alpine Cashmere in Lexington, the Toaster with Panini Press & Warming Rack from Revolution Cooking in Woburn, the Timeless Three+ Wine Preservation System from Coravin in Burlington, and the Reusable Makeup Removers from Dock and Bay in Westford.
