Motorcyclist killed in collision on on-ramp to Mass Pike

NEWTON, Mass. — State Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash on a ramp from Route 128/I-95 to the Mass Pike on the Weston/Newton line.

The crash involving the motorcycle rider and a box truck happened at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

The rider of the motorcycle has been identified as Ben Vinson, 46, of Billerica. State Police say Vinson died from injuries shortly after the crash.

Police say Vinson lost control of his motorcycle and crossed over the median into the oncoming lane, striking a box truck head-on.

The operator of the box truck, a 54-year-old man from Framingham, was not injured in the crash.

The ramps in both directions of the Mass Pike were closed for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation by Troopers assigned to State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services
