A mother and daughter were arrested on Friday after allegedly assaulting a police officer while trying to enter a South Boston high school, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.
According to the DA’s office, the 31-year-old mother and 14-year-old daughter were trying to confront a student at Excel High School they said spit on the daughter.
After repeated attempts to ask the pair from attempting to enter the school, Boston police officers responding to the scene attempted to place the mother under arrest. The mother kicked an officer while being placed in a cruiser while the daughter punched one of the officers, according to the DA’s office. At booking, officers also found a pocketknife on the mother.
The mother is facing charges of carrying a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct while the daughter was charged with assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
The mother is due in court on November 18 for a pre-trial hearing while the daughter will be arraigned at a later date in juvenile court.
