A new study from WaterCooolerTrivia reveals the most competitive trivia players in America are from Massachusetts followed by three other New England states.
The research, carried out by workplace trivia experts examined Google Trends data to analyze the past 12 months of Google searches across America associated with trivia games and quizzes.
With a total score of 631, Massachusetts topped the list by 28 points scoring the highest for the term ‘sporcle’.
A spokesperson for WaterCoolerTrivia.com commented on the study: “At Water Cooler, we see that trivia is popular all across the U.S. However, seeing just how rabid people in states like Massachusetts and Minnesota are surprised even us.”
Minnesota ranks as the second most competitive state with the highest proportion of its population searching for the term ‘trivia’ and the second-highest proportion searching for ‘logic’.
Vermont ranks as the third most competitive state in the country with the highest level of searches for ‘jeopardy’ and the second highest for the term ‘logic’ in the country.
Rhode Island ranks as the fourth most competitive state with the second-highest level of searches for the word ‘jeopardy’ and the second-highest level of searches for the terms ‘trivia’ and ‘trivia games’.
The top ten is rounded out by Pennsylvania ranking fifth, Virginia ranking sixth, Wisconsin seventh, followed by Ohio, New Hampshire, and Washington in the eighth, ninth, and tenth place, respectively.
