Here’s where you can buy gas for under $4 a gallon in Massachusetts

BOSTON — The price for a gallon of gasoline has dipped below $4 a gallon in some parts of Massachusetts.

The national average price for a gallon of regular gas has steadily declined in recent weeks to $3.87, but drivers in the Bay State are paying an average of $4.12, according to AAA.

Despite prices trending higher than other states, there are deals to be had in Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, and Bristol counties.

Below is the average price for gas in each Massachusetts County, according to AAA’s latest data:

  • Franklin County: $3.89
  • Hampden County: $3.91
  • Hampshire County: $3.98
  • Bristol County: $3.99
  • Plymouth County: $4.04
  • Essex County: $4.07
  • Berkshire County: $4.07
  • Worcester County: $4.09
  • Norfolk County: $4.17
  • Middlesex County: $4.22
  • Barnstable County: $4.29
  • Suffolk County: $4.36
  • Dukes County: $5.09
  • Nantucket County: $5.54

The average price for a gallon of regular gas at this time last year was $3.04.
