BOSTON — Musician and businessman Jimmy Buffett announced that he is hospitalized in Boston after doctors discovered some issues that “needed immediate attention.”

Buffett, 76, has rescheduled a show he was slated to play in Charleston, South Carolina, on Saturday as a result of his hospital stay.

In a tweet, Buffett said, “I had a sudden change of plans this week that affected us all. Two days ago, I was just back from a trip to the Bahamas, thawing out from the California ‘winter tour,’ and chomping at the bit to get to Charleston. I had to stop in Boston for a check-up but wound back in the hospital to address some issues that needed immediate attention.”

Buffett went on to write, “Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you. I also promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I’ll be doing.”

Buffett also thanked his fans for their thoughts and prayers.

Additional details about his hospitalization were not immediately available.

In September 2022, Buffet announced that he was dealing with health issues that required a brief hospitalization.
