Good Samaritans save driver of car that crashed, burst into flames on Route 128 in Beverly

BEVERLY, Mass. — Good Samaritans saved the driver of a car that crashed and burst into flames on Route 128 in Beverly during the Thursday morning commute.

According to Beverly Fire Chief Peter O’Connor, firefighters were called to the scene of a motor vehicle crash with someone stuck inside.

Prior to arrival, civilians helped pull the driver out of the car.

Firefighters say an off-duty Manchester firefighter helped the driver.

Traffic was backed up while the fire was put out.

The driver was transported to a hospital for evaluation.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
