HAMPTON FALLS, N.H. — A driver in New Hampshire is facing charges for driving nearly two times the speed limit on I-95 in Hampton Falls.

It happened Monday morning. New Hampshire State Police say they were monitoring holiday traffic from an aircraft when they saw the 2017 Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed and clocked it at 127 MPH in a 65 MPH speed zone.

The driver was identified as LaToya Huff from Hartford, Connecticut.

“When asked why she was traveling at that speed. Smith stated that she did not realize that she was going that fast,” according to a post from State Police.

Huff was charged with Reckless Operation and is due to appear in Hampton Circuit Court on April 21.

New Hampshire State Police says its Special Enforcement Unit regularly works to respond to aggressive driving behaviors.

It patrols across the state, aircraft during normal commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
