DA: Woman, 67, hit and killed by car in Concord identified

CONCORD, Mass. — A woman has been hit and killed by a car in Concord, according to a release from the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Main Street and Thoreau Street.

Jennifer Bemis, 67 of Concord, was identified Friday as the victim in the crash.

According to police, a 91-year-old woman from Littletown was driving a 2010 black Toyota through the intersection at Main Street and Thoreau Street when she hit the Bemis. Bemis was rushed to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.

No further details have been released about the incident but several state agencies are investigating.

Correction: A previous version of this story stated the victim was elderly. The district attorney’s office released a statement correcting its previous statement, which had listed the woman as elderly.
