Cow-nt me out! Brave bovine makes daring escape on I-95 in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Mass. — The owners of a small cow scrambled to wrangle their beloved farm animal after it escaped from a transport trailer on Interstate 95 in Georgetown on Tuesday morning.

Video shared with Boston 25 showed the moment the brave bovine hopped out of the trailer on the southbound side of the highway shortly before the exit to Georgetown and Topsfield.

A person in a car traveling behind the trailer captured the video. They could be heard yelling, “He’s gonna jump...Don’t do it, cow! Don’t do it!”

Moments later the cow slipped out of an opening in the rear of the trailer. It could be seen walking in the righthand travel lane, bringing traffic to a stop.

When a trooper arrived at the scene around 10:40 a.m., the cow’s owners had already corralled their precious cargo, according to state police.

The cow wasn’t injured in the incident.
