The body of a missing 17-year-old swimmer was recovered off Shannon Beach in Winchester Saturday.
The teen boy was swimming around 100 yards offshore with a group when his fellow swimmers realized he had dipped below the surface, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Rescue crews first received the call for the missing swimmer at approximately 7:00 p.m.
The victim’s body was recovered by the Winchester and Stoneham Firefighters in about six feet of water near where he was last seen.
An investigation into the swimmer’s death is active and ongoing by State Police Detectives.
