2 people arrested in Westford attempted break-in

WESTFORD, Mass. — Two people are in custody after Westford Police say a homeowner watched as a man tried to break into his house Friday afternoon.

According to investigators, the homeowner was not home at the time, but had a doorbell camera that captured the incident as it happened.

Boston 25 News spoke to neighbors on Sugar Maple Lane that also had recordings of the attempted break-in.

“I went back and started looking at my camera recording, and I saw this similar Ford car coming through the community, and then there’s this guy trying to go into the house,” explained neighbor Seth Ram.

Westford Police arrested a male and a female; Cristian Camilo Melo Guzman, 32, of Boston and Luna Giovanna Riofrio Garzon, 38, of Queens, NY.

Guzman was located hiding behind the house in the woods at the time of his arrest.

Garzon was stopped driving a Ford SUV on Route 119 and was taken into custody by the Littleton Police Department.

Her car was spotted driving up and down the street at the time of the attempted break-in.

Guzman was charged with the following:

  • Breaking and entering into a house in the daytime (felony)
  • Malicious destruction of property
  • Possession of burglarious tools
  • Possession of false documents (fake passport)
  • Providing false name during booking
  • Possession of a stun gun

Garzon was charged with the following:

  • Conspiracy to commit breaking and entering
  • Joint Venture
  • Possession of false documents (fake passport)
  • Providing false name during booking
  • Fugitive from Justice (Warrant out from Virginia)

Friday night, both suspects were being held at the Westford Police Department.

Westford Police told Boston 25 they were still trying to determine if Guzman was able to enter the home, and how the suspects knew each other.
