CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Cambridge man is under arrest after police say he broke into a Cambridge home, making his way into a girl's room in the middle of the night.
According to police, 25-year-old Leo Vicent Chaisson broke into a Hunting Street home in the Wellington-Harrington neighborhood of Cambridge.
Police responded to the incident at around 1:18 a.m. on Saturday after a resident reported they were woken up by a strange man inside their bedroom.
Responding officers were met by a swarm of upset and confused residents who were able to not only provide a description of the suspect, but one resident gave police a picture of the suspect caught on their surveillance camera.
"I saw my neighbor half-naked, partially clothed and then he was angry," said Amancio Pires, who lives in the neighborhood and gave police his surveillance footage. "[He said] 'He just came out of my daughter's bedroom,' and I told him, 'Do you need help?' You should call 911 right now, so I immediately called 911."
After searching the area, police were able to find Chaisson and place him under arrest. they believe he got access into the house through an unlocked back door.
Chiasson also stole a bike to help him get away faster.
"This neighborhood is very calm, it's very there's not very much crime going on it's very rare something going on something like this," said Pires.
