HAVERHILL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Strangers will no longer be knocking on doors or ringing bells in Haverhill.
It always seems to happen at the worst time a stranger at the door, selling one thing or another.
Leo Thomas of Haverhill said, "We might be in the middle of doing dinner. We might be doing homework, I have a son who's in school."
In Haverhill, residents like Thomas now have a way to keep solicitors away: a do-not-knock list. City Council member Colin Lepage says it will be compiled by the city's police chief.
Haverhill is the latest in a growing number of towns with a do not knock registry.
Others include: Methuen, Waltham, Sudbury, Bellingham, Medford, and Yarmouth.
