BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The grandfather of a 13-year-old girl hit and killed by a repeat drunk driver is pushing for more legislation to prevent repeat drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel.
Ron Bersani sat down with FOX 25's Maria Stephanos Monday to discuss his call for new legislation. Bersani previously helped pass a tough drunk driving bill known as Melanie's Law, named in honor of his deceased granddaughter, Melanie Powell.
Bersani's call for tougher laws comes days after a Billerica man was arrested for his 12th OUI. Guy Patierno was stopped on Route 495 in Boxborough Friday. Witnesses saw his car speeding and weaving in and out of lanes. The 62-year-old was driving on a revoked license taken away for life after his 10th offense in 2010.
