RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. — Animal control officers were working to find 14 ball pythons that were reportedly taken from a home and set loose in a neighborhood south of Augusta this week.
Two of the snakes were found in the area and authorities said the person suspected of releasing the snakes told them he let the rest of them go in a remote area.
The owner posted an alert on Facebook to people in her Richmond County subdivision to let them know her pet snakes had been let out of their cages.
She said the snakes are not harmful and are normally kept in secure cages.
"Someone was upset with me and did this kind of childish thing and let them out," Jacqueline Heim said.
