BOXFORD, Mass. — A Middleton firefighter and former Masconomet Hockey coach has been indicted for child rape, according to a release from the Essex County District Attorney's Office.
Andrew Lecolst, 39, is charged with one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and three counts of rape of a child on Wednesday.

The indictments allege Lecolst committed the crimes between 2003 and 2005, when the victim was between the ages of 13 and 15.
At the time, prosecutors say Lecolst was a member of the coaching staff of the hockey team at Masconomet Regional High School in Boxford.
Lecolst has been placed on paid leave pending the investigation.
Town officials said they don't have reason to believe Lecolst committed any crimes while employed by the fire department, saying the crimes he is now facing happened years earlier.
"At the time the incident was alleged to have occurred, Mr. Lecolst was not with the Middleton fire department, he was not an employee of the town of Middleton," said Middleton Town Administrator Andrew Sheehan.
Town leaders say that, while Lecolst is innocent until proven guilty, they are taking these allegations seriously.
Lecolst was also the men's hockey coach at Salve Regina University in Rhode Island between 2007 and 2010, but administrators there said they had no history of complaints against him.
He will be arraigned in Salem Superior Court on Monday.
