Fire destroys building, 40 vehicles, in New Hampshire

DERRY, N.H. (AP) - Officials say a building was destroyed and 40 vehicles damaged or destroyed in a fire at an auto salvage business in Derry, New Hampshire.

Firefighters say flames engulfed Watt's Auto Salvage in a matter of minutes Friday and that two workers were lucky to get out. No one was hurt.

Investigators say a welder was working when flammable materials caught fire.

Battalion Chief James Richardson says the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The blaze was so hot that it melted the siding on a building across the street.
