BILLERICA, Mass. — The family of a little boy injured when a car crashed into his day car last week tells FOX25 they are thankful he is alive.
The crash happened Thursday afternoon at A Brighter Rainbow daycare in Billerica.
Neighbors rushed over to help after the car, driven by a 38-year-old woman, crashed through the wall and completely into the front of the building.
The 2-year-old boy, Nezharri Arey-Lundi, and the driver of that car were the only people hospitalized after the crash.
“I got a call from Lowell General Hospital saying they have my son. a car had gone through his daycare and that he got hit,” Kareen Arrey, Nezharri’s mother, said.
Nezharri's parents are thankful he only has a bruise and a gash to show for everything he want.
“The car had hit him and he got stuck under. Someone heard him crying and screaming. He was trying to dig his way out and the neighborhood help them,” his mother said.
Mark Lundi, Nezharri's dad, says a teacher at the day care told him that his son had been taken to the hospital.
“It didn't hit me as hard until I seen him at the hospital. That's when the tears came out. He's innocent he's only a child,” Lundi said.
Both parents said they understand the driver had a medical condition, but say an apology would be nice.
"Thank God I'm just giving all the praise to God. Angels watching over him that's what I believe," Arrey said.
