Family searching for missing box, filled with precious scrapbooks

BRAINTREE, Mass. — A Braintree family is desperate to get their prized scrapbooks back after they became lost during a move.

"I have been crying since I realized it disappeared," said Deborah Mosher Hogan.

Deborah Mosher Hogan said she placed the scrapbooks in a box, and then put the box in her truck. Somehow, the box fell out while they were driving.

"Anyone who has seen them will tell you they are phenomenal and something that will passed on from generation to generation," she said.

Her mother made the scrapbooks for the grandchildren, chronicling their lives. One of Deborah's sons is in the military, and the book has moments from every step of his career. Hogan said her mother, who is 70, is heartbroken.

"She put her heart and many hours into every page of these books," she said.

Hogan has posted all over social media, hoping someone has the box. She searched up and down her route but didn't find anything. She believes the box fell out near Rte. 37 in Holbrook.

"We are totally baffled as to how it fell out without us seeing it," she said.

They've been working with the police, hoping that someone picked up the box and has their precious scrapbooks.

Hogan said the box was brown and there were three scrapbooks inside - one of them has a U.S. Navy cover. If you have the box, you are asked to drop it off at the Braintree Police Department.
