QUINCY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man who found family photos strewn along busy Gallivan Boulevard in Dorchester over the weekend has been able to return the photos to the man who owned them.
On Sunday, Sean Curran was riding his bike when he saw photos and postcards along the street.
"It looked like Times Square after New Year's," Curran told FOX25.
Curran was able to grab a few photos and postcards off the road, but unrelenting traffic made it impossible to pick up all the pictures. Curran said he called police and they said they would send an officer down to check out the scene, but Curran decided to take matters into his own hands and post some details to Facebook.

After FOX25 got in touch with Curran and shared his story, other people came forward and said they had salvaged some photos as well.
Later on Sunday, two police departments got in touch with Curran, and in turn he was able to get in contact with Charles Dowell, the person who owned the pictures.
On Monday, Curran met up with Dowell, who is a Coast Guard veteran, and gave him the photos.
"I received a bunch of praise for what was really just a small deed. The real praise belongs to vets like Charles, who, in the end, will never recover the majority of his photos. Weddings? Christmas? They all blew down Gallivan Boulevard and became memories."
Curran asked that instead of praising him, Facebook users direct their praise and thanks to Dowell for his service.
