Emotional day for many at New England Walk Of Hope

It was an emotional day for many, including Boston 25 News anchor Kerry Kavanaugh, who shared her story of infertility at the New England Walk Of Hope on Sunday.

Resolve New England, a nonprofit that helps with education, support and advocacy for families struggling with infertility, hosted the event in Dedham.

Experts say one in eight people will struggle with building their families.

"I'm really happy to be here today," Kavanaugh said. "I am 24 weeks pregnant."

Organizers spoke with Boston 25 News, and said their mission is to show people that they're not alone in their journey.

"People are going through it, they hold it inside, they don't necessarily tell people. That's why a lot of people don't realize it's so common," Kate Weldon LeBlanc, the executive director of Resolve New England said. "This is really to get it out into the light of the sun and walk together."

More than 300 people were there for the walk.
