ALEXANDRIA, New Hampshire — The Alexandria Police Department issued a statement warning drivers about fake inspection and registration stickers after finding a vehicle covered in cheese wrappers on Saturday.
The driver was pulled over and had what seemed to be cut-out flyers and a cheese wrapper stuck to her windows and license plates in an attempt to fool police.
The punishment for using fake stickers is considered a misdemeanor and can lead to a fine up to $1,200, but in this case, she could be fined up to $2,400. Her car will also be towed and impounded until she properly registers and has it towed from the lot, according to police.
"We can't even file this under the 'A for effort' category," Alexandria Police said on their Facebook page.
Alexandria Police also report the driver was arrested for operating after suspension and diving without proof of insurance.
