Driver killed in NH after tree strikes vehicle during storm

CLAREMONT, NH (MyFoxBoston.com) -- One driver was killed on Sunday night when a tree blown down by a storm struck the person's vehicle.

Emergency services responded to the scene on Chestnut Street just before 7:30 p.m. Crews found that the accident had occurred during a strong storm that was passing through the area. While the vehicle had been traveling in its own lane, a tree was blown down by a storm and struck the vehicle.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity is being withheld until all family can be notified.

The accident remains under investigation. Chestnut Street was still closed to traffic at 5:30 a.m. on Monday morning due to power lines and other trees that were blown out during the storm.
