Deer breaks into Weymouth liquor store

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A deer busted through a Weymouth liquor store window Tuesday, leaving damage behind.

According to the owner of Quick 6 Liquors, the deer entered the store by barging through a large window in the front. The store's owner Tarlochan Gidda said he heard the impact and thought a car hit the building.

Anne Shore was working the register, and had the same reaction.

"I was just standing here helping a customer, I heard a horrendous crash and ran the other way because I thought a car was coming into the building," she said.

The customers inside were shocked at the sight of the animal; one froze, another dropped his beer and made a run for it.

The deer reportedly raced through the store, then carefully down a wine aisle until it reached the back. It then tried to barrel through a rear exit, but was not able to make it. The store owner, and a few helpers, opened another set of doors and the deer ran out.

"He didn't have his ID on him, we had to kick him out," one employee said.

The deer was in the store for about five minutes and only damaged the window it entered through, as well as the liquor and cigarettes in that area. The deer didn’t cause any damage while running down the wine aisle, which Gidda thought was “lucky.”

“It’s crazy, he didn’t knock down any bottles,” he said.

One side of the store was left undamaged by the apparently graceful deer.

Gidda was happy that none of his customers were hurt, but he did notice that the deer had a few cuts.
