HOPKINTON, Mass. — The cleanup from an overturned propane truck on Spring Street Thursday is still underway, nearly 12 hours after the incident.
Firefighters said the tanker was carrying about 3,500 gallons when it toppled over just after 4 p.m. Thursday. Crews are working to remove the propane, emptying all of it before the truck can be towed.

Six houses were evacuated as a precaution due to the flammable liquid. It’s not clear when the road will reopen or how long it will take before the tanker can be moved and residents allowed back into their homes.
The Town of Hopkinton tweeted early Friday morning that crews were making progress and the road would remain closed for "another number of hours."

It's not clear what caused the truck to overturn.
