FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — When it comes to the World Cup, there are few people who party like Brazilians.
Even before Brazil scored their first goal against Mexico, excited Brazilians flooded Tropical Cafe in Framingham to watch the match on Monday morning, dancing and sporting the country's trademark colors.
"It's so great, so wonderful, to see them here having fun, on a Monday [at] 10 o'clock in the morning," said one fan.
Outside the restaurant, a mix of yellow, blue and green flooded the streets and sidewalks after the game.
'It was awesome, we are very excited to have Brazil going further in the World Cup," said one restaurant patron.
An explosion of euphoria roared through the streets of New England as many cheered on the team in anticipation of winning their sixth World Cup title this year.
As it has done in previous years, the restaurant opened early, giving Brazilians a taste of home as they united to watch the game that ended up leading them to the quarter finals.
Screaming and shouting was also a huge part of the experience, as many shouted "Hexa! Hexa!" - the chant alluding to the number of World Cup titles the country will hold should they win this years' cup.
For Brazilians, soccer is a passion like no other.
"This is the thing that we do best - soccer - and right now, because of the economic crisis in Brazil it's kind of a scape goat for the people," said one restaurant patron.
Up next for the five-time World Cup winners as they fight for the "hexa" title will be the quarterfinal match against Belgium on Friday.
