BPD seeking help in identifying person of interest in fatal stabbing

DORCHESTER, Mass. — Boston Police are investigating the death of a 77-year-old man after he was found stabbed to death inside his Dorchester apartment.

Officers responded to a call for an unconscious man at around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday at 99 Shandon Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found an unresponsive man, identified as Dorchester native Marcelino Perez, suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors said police were knocking on doors on Thursday night, asking if anyone had witnessed anything in connection to the apparent murder. Some neighbors said the victim's throat had been slashed and that they're eager for police to find the person who did it.

"Yesterday evening when they knocked on my door asking did I hear any noise that was out of the ordinary, whether it was a 'boom boom bang' or whatever, and like I said, I couldn't give no information then and I'm still in disarray," said one neighbor.

Boston Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person of interest in relation to this death investigation.
